Hi, I’m Jim. I’ve been a local handy man for 20 + years and worked as a roofer for about 10 years. I’m not the typical Orlando transplant, I have actually lived in Central Florida my life. I have a passion for professional wood working of all types and enjoy creating artwork using the various species of wood. It is a hobby that saved my life from an addiction that would have most certainly shortened my time here on earth…so I am forever grateful for it. (special thanks to Rick Adler…for his kindness, patience and generosity!).

I started this blog (okay…with a little help from my wife ) because I get a lot of questions from friends and family about home repair and roofing and how to build things in general. My wife is my biggest fan and thought it would be a good idea to start a blog where I could share my opinions and advice to help others since I have worked in construction most of my life.

My goal is to provide an objective point of view about the general construction and home improvement industry and best practices. The information in this blog  is strictly my personal opinion and I usually write about topics or questions I get asked the most often. I don’t claim to know it all, but I do have plenty of experience to back up my claims.
